The Georgia Tech Leadership Conference (GTLC) is an annual convergence of student leaders hosted by the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) Leadership Honor Society. The theme for this year's conference is "The Power of Why."
GTLC 2018 will be held from 11AM to 2PM on Saturday, February 24, 2018
in the Student Center Ballroom.
We are honored to host Tom Fanning, CEO of Southern Company, the second largest utility company in the United States, as our keynote speaker. In addition, there will be 3 other professional workshop leaders for a day who will aim to equip attendees with skills to develop leadership techniques to excel in any post-school setting. ODK hopes that students will apply knowledge gained through this conference to enhance their personal and professional brand in the campus community and beyond. Both workshop sessions are thirty minutes in length and will cover how and why we lead in the corporate world, in service-oriented careers, in healthcare, on campus and in the classroom.
Registration is $10 online. Attendees will receive lunch and various swag items such as personalized business cards, professional headshots, Georgia Tech lapel pins, pens, and custom event stickers.

Keynote Speaker
Tom FanningCEO: Southern Company
Tom Fanning is the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Atlanta based Southern Company, the second largest utility company in the United States. Under his leadership, power and gas are provided to 9 million customers throughout the Southeastern United States.
Tom received both bachelor's and master's degrees in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech before beginning his career as a Financial Analyst at Southern Company in 1980. He held many executive roles before accepting his current position in 2010, and has pursued a strategy based on developing a diverse portfolio of energy resources that includes nuclear, coal, natural gas, renewables, and energy efficiency. Since becoming CEO, he has called for a national energy policy to support clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy. He is on the advisory board of the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, the board of trustees of the Georgia Tech Foundation, the board of directors of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations and the regional governing board of the World Association of Nuclear Operators’ Atlanta Centre. Fanning resides in Atlanta.

Ravi Venkatesan
CTO: Bridge2 Solutions
Ravi Venkatesan is an Atlanta based Technology Leader serving currently as Chief Technology Officer at Bridge2 Solutions, where he is resonsible for driving innovation and optimizing cost structure as leader of the Technology Delivery teams. For more than 14 years prior to joining Bridge 2 Solutions, Ravi held Technology Strategy and Delivery leadership positions at Cbeyond, Accenture and Blueshift. At Cbeyond he led the IT Strategy and Delivery teams with responsibility for all Software Delivery Life Cycle functions. At Accenture he led IT Strategy, Program and Portfolio management, Architecture and Development teams, delivering large scale systems for Accenture's Fortune 500 clients. At Blueshift, as Product Development lead, he deployed innovative technology products in the Education space to enable online course delivery and evaluations.
Additionally, Ravi is a regular public speaker on Technology and Wellness topics, a public speaking coach, and meditation instructor. He has conducted several meditation based wellness programs for multiple companies, striving to improve workplace relationships and productivity. Ravi has been a panelist and speaker at events including Supernova Atlanta, TAG CIO Round Tables, and the Georgia CIO Leadership Association.
Dennis Hooper
Executive Coach
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, Dennis spent his first career helping hundreds of managers and technicians within the Procter and Gamble Company (23) years and the Weyerhausner Company (7 years) build their leadership skills. He held line and Hman Resources staff assignments at five different manufacturing locations, often serving other facilities based on his growing reputation.
Along the way, Dennis wanted the experience of owning his own buisness, so he and his wife Donna purchased a small bookstore. With one full-time and some part time help, they owned and operated this retail business for five years. Now, as a Certified Franklin Covey Coach focused on leadership development, Dennis is helping leaders of organizations enhance the skills of their direct reports. He shows leaders how to leverage their experience and influence to build future organizational leaders. The executive achieves greater freedom while building assurance that the oragnization will continue to serve its customers well, continaully improving toward excellence. Dennis also holds a master's degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University, and currently lives in Atlanta with his wife, Donna.
Breanna Lathrop
COO: Good Samaritan Health Center
Breanna Lathrop, DNP, MPH, FNP-BC is the Chief Operating Officer and Family Nurse Practitioner at the Good Samaritan Health Center. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Nursing from St. Olaf College in 2006 and her Masters of Science in Nursing and Masters of Public Health in health policy from Emory University in 2008. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Georgia Southern University in May of 2014. Breanna is passionate about eliminating health disparities through improving health care access and health outcomes among vulnerable populations. She has 16 years of experience in charitable care and has published on the topics of social determinants of health, leadership, the Affordable Care Act, and group prenatal care. She lives in Atlanta with her husband Matt and three children, Porter, Micah, and Selah.
